It's not about me.

I am not the writer in my family, I am the talker. So I am trying to talk less and write more.
Life as a follower of Jesus, a wife, a mom, a missionary, a home school teacher, and so much more truly makes it "not about me". Most of the time I am okay with that, but I will admit there are times when I wish it could be "about me".
My goal in having an online journal is to be transparent, to be honest, and encourage you to grow in your walk with Jesus, as we/I try to make it more about "Him" our Heavenly Father, and less about me/us.

It has been awhile....

Early December while tying my shoes, my back decided to do its "thing" again. It put me on the couch for sometime. When I do this "thing" to my back it causes much pain and I find myself getting frustrated. It does allow me more quiet time, to pray, to think, to spend quality time with the kids, but it does put more responsibility on Jack and Janelle. During this time I prayed for a miracle, "Lord heal my back once and for all".
A dear friend called and told me about his chiropractor. I HATE chiropractors in general due to a bad experience 10 years ago. I listened and decided that this might be good. I was able to get in a few days after my injury and walked out of their office saying, "their is my miracle". This chiropractor uses the "Activator Method", something I have never heard of. It has been a bit over a month, I still need to go every 1-2 weeks, but with exercise, stretching and my visits to their office, I am healing. Praise The Lord!!!
In other news, Janelle and I are going to Jamaica for a Bible Quiz Missions Trip. We are excited at this opportunity to work with third-sixth graders in a few local schools in Jamaica. We will have the opportunity to share the Gospel through rope illustration, wordless bracelet, and by sharing what Jesus is doing in our lives. I have been on missions trips before but this is the first for Janelle. I am blessed to be able to share this experience with my daughter. I will share upon our return how the Lord uses us on this journey.
Until then, "Go Bless" as  you go about your day serving.
